The holiday season is finally upon us and the countdown to Christmas is on! With the holidays comes holiday decor and sometimes decking the halls can feel like a lot of work, especially when you’re not sure where to begin. There is no wrong way to decorate but it never hurts to have a little guidance to get you started. Here are a couple of tips to help you create that festive magic throughout your home!

Greenery is your best friend:

From your front door to your mantle, greenery is a simple and festive way to spruce up for the holidays. Changing out your planters for something seasonal is a great start to any decor. Pick something such as poinsettias to add a pop of red or pine for a signature holiday look. Seasonal greenery is versatile decor that you can use throughout your home. A bit of garland or a good wreath has the power to add warmth and cheer to any space.

Don’t be afraid to experiment:

Just because the classic holiday colors are red and green doesn’t mean you should feel obligated to use them. Get fun and creative with your decor. Find a color scheme or theme that fits you and your home and dive into it.

Amp up your table setting:

Nothing says deck the halls quite like a stunning table setting. To achieve the perfect table setting I like to start by adding a table runner. Table runners are an easy and affordable way to add a bit of texture and they make a great base for the rest of your decorations. When it comes to centerpieces anything goes! Get creative and have fun with your centerpiece, just don’t forget to keep it low enough so your guest can see each other. For finishing touches add in chargers, place cards, and napkin rings. Now the table is set and ready to go!

Holiday scents:

The cherry on top of all good decor is a fresh scent to go along with it. Nothing makes you feel like its the most wonderful time of the year quite like infusing your home with a good holiday smell. Something about seasonal scents have the power to immediately boosts your spirit and leave you feeling warm and cozy. When creating the perfect holiday aroma there are many different methods you can use and many different scents to choose from. This can be anything from finding a candle you love to filling your home with fresh pine or even making a stove simmer pot.

Add tiny touches:

The tiny touches are what makes the biggest difference. Try adding a bit of ribbon to items around your house or leftover greenery to a place setting. Christmas ornaments also double as great wrapping accessories. Small simple details are what stand out and will take your decor up a level!
