Designing Green
Plants, by design, are a natural stimulant and can immediately elevate your mood. So, by including them in your day to day, you not only enhance your space, but you also create a sense of wellness. At times, it’s truly calms my soul.

Nashville Spaces: Music Venues
One of my favorite things about being from Nashville is being raised around great music. Music shapes how we’re feeling, it inspires us, and creates memories. That’s why I invest a lot of my free time and money on going to concerts. And, of course, Music City does not lack in interesting venues to visit. Here are a few of my favorite places to see a show in Nashville.
For The Love of Color
In August I had the wonderful opportunity to sit down with artist, Robin Schlacter. As we sat and spoke of her perspective on life and art and what it means to her, I couldn’t help but to take a deeper look at the world around me and try to comprehend how another artist draws her inspiration for design.
It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!
There is just something about family traditions, making grandma’s cookies, time spent together and making your home feel festive in readiness for your upcoming holiday gatherings.
Quebec City
In October, Jennefer and I were invited to visit Quebec City to learn about the full process of producing the highest quality hardwood floors; and as a plus, we were also able to explore this beautiful city!
2nd Half
For fifty years now I have lived a charmed life. Things have not always gone to plan, but it wouldn’t be living if they did.
Movie Magic: The Art of Production Design
Because of my husband, Evan, whom is an avid film enthusiast, we spend many date nights curled up on the sofa watching movies. Our vast movie collection ranges from classics like Breakfast at Tiffany’s to new box office hits such as Black Panther. From a young age, Evan has been captivated by the art of story telling and cinematography. For me, I often find my gaze drifting from the characters on the screen to focusing on the set design.
Here are a few movies I’ve recently watched with breathtaking design.
A Glimpse of Swiss Konstnär
A few years ago I was lucky enough to invite myself to visit with friends who were at the time living in Switzerland. I was ecstatic! I spent a full week walking around with my mouth and eyes wide open. While I could literally spend hours talking about the history, the architecture, cobblestones, and the ALPS! I won’t. Today I want to share some of the spaces I didn’t even get to go into!
Outside Spaces: Nashville Rooftops
Nashville has some of the most splendid spots in the land, especially for entertaining. Patios seem to be the landing spot for most Nashvillians, but, for me, rooftops reign supreme.
