Designed for Travel
Traveling is something my soul requires, and I'm sure this is a “problem” that most people can relate to. Not only is travel something I love to do, there are countless articles online that explain the benefits that traveling provides for your...
House Stalking – 28803 Edition
If you have ever followed Rick and I around on social media you will not be surprised to hear that Asheville, North Carolina is one of our favorite spots.
Cabin Porn
Last blog post I pulled a project from the “favorites of the past.” This time I’m completely taken with a current/future project, but what brought me here is a love from very long ago. It started for me as it does for most kids, boy and girl alike – a blanket and something tall, a chair, sofa, or the dining room table. The more wood involved the better. When you are younger than reasonable understanding, more imaginative than John and Paul while writing Sargent Pepper’s, and – no cable TV (almost no TV at all), no video games, no internet (no problem – no computer!), cell phone..?.come on…!.., you can create wonderful adventures out of the abundance of “nothing” that you do have. So, began my love of cabins.
Artist Spotlight – edie Maney
Things I love about Nashville.?. I could go on and on, but for the sake of this piece I will talk about one favorite. The people! The people of Nashville and the emotion and passion they carry for the art and beauty of the city. One of those people in particular is artist, edie Maney.
Maple Grove- A Hilltop Haunting
Throughout the ebb and flow of our design work this lifestyle firm will get the fortunate opportunity to add a little holiday flare, and this one did not disappoint as it fell on Halloween and a spooktacular party was in the works. Our entire office is inspired by Halloween. The energy is palpable when it comes to bouncing ideas off one another. Halloween is a holiday that sparks the imagination-and not just when it comes to thinking up creative costumes. It’s those ideas that can be fostered through art and design. With its mysterious beauty and hilltop location, Maple Grove is a place that really stands out. It was effortless to incorporate Halloween decor with its existing decor.
Green Hills – Aging in Place
We often have clients who have relocated to Nashville. Whether it is to be closer to the grandchildren, new employment, or a second home for retirement, we have seen an increase of baby boomers to the area. Recently, we had the pleasure of working with clients in the ever growing Green Hills area. Having purchased a home located fantastically close to their grandchildren, and all other items on their list—save one. The downfall…the master bathroom.

Art Spotlight: Nashville Public Library
The other day I was asked “who has been your favorite client or what item have you framed that stands out as a favorite?” There have been many wonderful clients and numerous interesting items and even a few bizarre ones – clients and items. Given a moments thought, I said the work I’ve done with the Nashville Downtown Public Library comes to mind.
Toronto: In Love with the Queen City of Canada
It is no surprise that the fourth largest city in North America is awash with culture, art and wonderful architecture. We took a quick fall break trip and were only able to scratch the surface of what this great city has to offer. This is a sampling of what we were able to dig into, which was just enough to completely fall in love with Toronto.
